Fire damages fireplace, smothers apartment in smoke

Exterior fireplace addition goes up in smoke.

Although warmer weather is here and the fireplace wasn't being used, the tenant still suffered fire damage after a lit cigarette rolled under the exposed foundation.

Thankfully, the property owner was familiar with SERVPRO, and called us immediately to inspect and provide an estimate for the restoration.

Upon inspection, the exterior unit was deemed non-salvageable and would need to be removed. The interior of the apartment did suffer smoke damage, mainly in the living room.

We provided our recommendation for the restoration process to the property owner, who was happy to follow our protocols and schedule the clean up.
